Step 2: Setting Up Your Accounts

Upon acceptance to ISU, you need to activate your NetID,  access your student email, and set up your AccessPlus account. This ensures complete access to your resources as an Iowa State student.

Enable Your Net-ID

Your ISU Net-ID is the key to accessing the majority of Iowa State's resources, including the library, your student email, and most importantly, actually taking your online courses. Obtaining your Net-ID can be done by visiting the Acropolis page and completing the form there. If you have any issues with your Net-ID, consult this IT Services page for support.

Once you've enabled your Net-ID, you will have access to important functions and resources throughout the university, most importantly your student email.

Access Your Email

Your CyMail account is the default email for your most important university correspondence. You can access your CyMail account here.

If you have any difficulties with CyMail, consult IT Services and this page about CyMail for more information.

Log in to AccessPlus

Your Iowa State University acceptance letter includes your University ID number and password. This will allow you to login to AccessPlus, where you can verify your registration, enroll in courses, and view your U-Bill. Click below and login to AccessPlus if you haven't yet! If you've received your acceptance email, but don't have your University ID number yet, send an email to agonlineservices@iastate.edu.

Login to Access Plus

We'll cover course registration and other AccessPlus features in Step 3.

When you've completed setting up your accounts, it's finally time to register for courses.
